Catherine Ribble Stires Oaks

Very interesting research on this snow and ice day in Pa. The weather is still making it hard to get out and about. BUT and I say BUT if your going to this cemetery that has huge thorn bushes that could eat a small child alive this would be the time to go, those nasty bushes a are still dormant waiting for spring.
Catherine Ribble Stires Oaks was very fascinating research. She becomes important because the cemetery she is buried in is abandoned and is in a very important historical area of Warren co., Nj. She is buried in the Calno Vancampen cemetery off of Old Mine Road in Warren Co., Nj. The records before 1840 in New Jersey are sketchy and for women mostly nonexistent. Her cemetery stone was very hard to read but I could make out her death date. I found a marriage document for her to Ezekiel Oaks and when looking through death records from Calno from the Raub and more site I looked to see if there were other Stire and I found Francis Stires I could not find Catherine parents and was wondering if she was related to Francis. I found that Catherine was Francis mother. LOLOLOLOL I can't tell you how tracking Catherine has just been a puzzle and I am happy to tell you about her life..
Catherine Ribble, born 6 April 1803 in Calno, Pahaquarry twp., Warren Co., NJ.she was the child of William (1771-1852) and Anna Barbara Banhart (1777-1832)Ribble her grandfather John Geroge Ribble (1741-1822) was a revolutionary war patriot. The surname can be spelled Rabbel, Rabbald. and Rubel part of the family moved to Upper Canada before the war of 1812 William's uncle, George Ribble Sr., died in New Jersey in 1822. In his will, George makes note that he bequeaths to his eldest son William the small strip of land along the river hill which I bought from my brother Anthony Ribble & William Ribble, Anthony's son. This sale of William's land in New Jersey on the Delaware River probably occurred in 1810 and financed the move to Canada.
Catherine marries John Stires (1798-1823) in about 1818 they have children, Francis Cooper 1819-1895, George Ribble 1821-1906 and Anna Barbara 1822-1903.
5 Sept. 1829 in Warren Co., Nj she marrieds Ezekiel Oaks (1799-1882) Ezekiel occupation is Cooper ( a maker or repairer of barrels) and farmer. They have children, Joseph 1827-1857, Andrew and William.
Catherine dies on 12 March 1868. Pahaquarry Twp., Warren Co.,n.j. she and Ezekiel along with their son Joseph are all buried at Calno cemetery. Catherine was the only visible stone
