Adam Batchler

ADAM BATCHLER died 30 June 1911 he was a farmer living and farming in Smithfield, Chestnuthill and Middle Smithfield Township. He was a father of six children.  Burial took place on  3 July 19121 at the Beakleyville Baptist Church cemetery.

Yes, this is the cemetery over by Haltermans Auto Ranch on route 447, East Stroudsburg, Pa. He was the son of Andrew (1812-1887) and Juliann Brotzman Batchler (1825-1811). His birthdate is a question, he was born in 1845 but I have two different sources of the date, on is his death certificate April 1845,18 February on a family tree and 28th 1845.

He married 14 November 1868 at the Stroudsburg Methodist Church, Margaret Ann Halterman Batchler. They had children: Lewis, Amanda, Julia, Edward, Oscar, and Emma.  Margaret is also buried at Beaklyville. He married a second time 1 January 1899 to Sarah Mackes/Mecker, its interesting that his marriage license application states he hadn’t been married before.
